The conclusion and preservation of peace are central themes of Early Modern history. The exhibition “Images of Peace in Europe, 1450–1815” presents a broad spectrum of artistic depictions of peace and peace settlements from the final phase of the Hundred Years’ War to the Congress of Vienna. At the same time, it documents the results of the collaborative three-year research project entitled “Übersetzungsleistung von Diplomatie und Medien im vormodernen Friedensprozess Europa 1450 – 1789” (“Translation Achievements in Diplomacy and the Media in the Pre-Modern Peace Process: Europe 1450 – 1789”).
